Lara Logan

Lara Logan’s candid reporting, often from the most dangerous places in the world, has earned her a prominent place among the world’s best foreign correspondents. She is known as much for her courage under fire, as her willingness to stand up against bias in the media today.

She has been a journalist for more than thirty years and is currently on special assignment for Sinclair media, reporting exclusively on the immigration and humanitarian crisis along the southern border.

In her role at 60 Minutes for 16 years, Logan helped us understand the political and human conflicts around the world, including Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel and Palestine, and Egypt.

Committed to the story, she lived in Iraq for five years at the height of the violence. She was one of the few journalists in Baghdad when the U.S. Military entered the city, reporting live in the square as the statue of Sadam fell. Logan has earned almost every journalistic and reporting award, among them are the highly prestigious duPont-Columbia University Silver Baton, the Overseas Press Club, many Emmys and the RTNDA/ Edward R. Murrow Awards – to name a few.

Her fearless determination to get the story from its vortex, no matter how dangerous, has often put Logan herself in great danger. In Tahrir Square in Egypt, she came close to death when she was gang-raped and sodomized by a mob while reporting for 60 Minutes on the fall of Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak.

A journalist who heads straight into hostile places not for spectacle, but for the sake of our understanding the real issues of our time, Logan is an insightful interpreter of international current events and a fearless interviewer asking tough questions of today’s most powerful people.

She suffered a heartbreaking injury at the 2008 Olympic Trials where she was unable to compete in the finals due to injury and doctors said she would never compete at a high level again.

Wells made an impressive comeback in 2011 by winning her first pair of USA national titles, completely dominating the sport. In 2011, Wells Brinkley also went public with another heartbreaking struggle she faced; being sexually abused by her mother’s fiancé. A few weeks later her mother passed away in a car accident where her mother’s fiancé was driving the car under the influence. Kellie as a beautiful story of overcoming obstacles and triumph.

Peter Villa

Peter had no visions of grandeur that could pave a solid path for the future. Yet he surfaces as what he never thought he would be – A Leader.

Serving in the Military for 13 years, starting businesses, and sitting at the table with some of the most prominent leaders of our planet, Peter has grown to understand that failure is good – Regardless of the stigma that surrounds that word.

His style is drawing those who want to be inspired and lead through thick and thin. He openly discusses his failures and draw backs, putting everything on the table, and displaying a level of vulnerability and humility that isn’t just real, but 100% relatable.

His hope is that when you leave the room, you’ve understood that on this path that we call life, falling down builds us up. The sooner we own that, the sooner we can achieve greatness and influence those around us to affect change in the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from attending a SpartanX Leadership Forum?

SXLF is a one-day event where masters of industry meet to collaborate, connect, and learn critical leadership skills. Participants will enjoy a VIP experience in a professional sports stadium while testing their newly learned skills on signature Spartan obstacles. Expect to leave with the confidence to make big changes in your corporate culture, performances, and in life.

What is the story behind SXLF?

We’ve hosted thousands of races around the world, with participants ranging from professional athletes and health enthusiasts to business executives, individuals just beginning their fitness journey, and even children. After crossing the finish line, hundreds and hundreds of executives reached out to ask us, “How do I get all my employees to experience this?”

We had already been interviewing some of the greatest minds in business on our Spartan UP Podcast, including Richard Branson, Tim Ferris, Gary Vaynerchuk, and we wanted to connect the great people we were meeting on a daily basis with companies looking to instill the Spartan mindset in their team. We started by hosting private, team building events on corporate campuses, but we wanted to create something the masses could experience. We wanted to put leading companies from around the world in the same room to connect and collaborate. That’s when SpartanX Leadership Forums were born.

SXLF is a place where great thinkers, doers, leaders, and teams can come together to learn, grow, and contribute to the betterment of their companies, households, and respective communities.

What is included in the registration cost?

SXLF is an experience unlike any other team building, networking, or business retreat you’ve ever been to. You will:

  • Gain VIP access and experience a private tour at an iconic national sports complex
  • Learn the Spartan Principles and how to execute them in your organization and life
  • Interact with industry leaders in your area
  • Collaborate with leading companies’ executive teams
  • Take home a toolkit to share with your community and organization
  • Enjoy healthy snacks and drinks over inspiring conversations with other attendees

What is the difference between this event and other summits/team building events?

It’s simple - we’re doing what has never been done before. Where else do team activities include spears, arrows, and climbing walls?

What other team building events are hosted in an iconic sports stadium? SXLF is bringing the Spartan mindset to the fast-paced business world, and we’re ready to make a significant impact in corporate culture. We’ve already impacted over 5 million lives in 45 countries, and we’re ready to help 5 million more.

How do I get my team in?

Are you ready to commit to making a change or just looking to get out of the office? Because we only want game changers in the room, we cap every event at 300 people to ensure the nature and mission remain in tact.
